Meet Dr. Joshua Peyser
Dr. Joshua M. Peyser, known to his patients as Dr. Josh, founded Sweet Tooth Pediatric Dentistry with the goal of delivering quality, personalized care in a fun and charming environment. He is a Charleston native, who grew up in West Ashley and attended Porter-Gaud School. Dr. Josh went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Clemson University and later earned his doctorate in Dental Medicine from the Medical University of South Carolina. He found his passion for treating pediatric patients and completed a specialized two-year residency program in Pediatric Dentistry at the renowned University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Josh's final year of residency was spent rotating between the dental clinics at Miller Children's and Women's Hospital in Long Beach, Children's Hospital of Los Angeles, and Children's Hospital of Orange County. He gained extensive knowledge and experience, which includes treating children with special needs, treating children under oral conscious, general, and IV sedation, and training in interceptive orthodontics.
Dr. Josh went on to achieve Board Certification in Pediatric Dentistry and is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. He is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and regularly employs the latest diagnostic, preventive, and comforting treatment methods available to the benefit of his patients.
Dr. Josh always emphasizes “gentle” dentistry but adds a touch of compassion, and he prides himself on practicing dentistry with as minimal intervention as possible. His goal is to have every child leave the office excited to return. Dr. Josh also speaks Spanish if needed.
When away from the office, you can find him spending quality time with his wife, Ann, and chasing around his two young children, Ellie and Ethan. Dr. Josh has a passion for all things sports, matched only by his passion for helping patients. He looks forward to meeting you and your family soon!
